give me an inch, and ill take a mile.

This is friend, she came in with a drawing that she did when she was a druged up 16 year old punk rock kid. (just a note, unless you tell me you want to do your drawing verbatem, i will do my own version of it) but all in all she was stoked on it. and it's her first tattoo!

random photo.

giesha neck

this guy came in as a refferal. He had just moved here and met someone at the bar and told him to come to me and let me "do whatever i want".  thought this was pretty funny. i told him i wanted atleast a little direction, even if it was what kind of vibe he wanted.
This a kitsune piece i did about a year ago. finally got a heald picture of it.

What can be the hardest thing.

Finding true inspiration, and going with it, even when you don't trust it a 100%. is one of the hardest things to do as a artist. People want you to do what they've already seen of yours that they like. Or what they think it should be. But to take a chance....now that is being an artist. I try with every tattoo to speak from my inner most being. Does it always happen? No. Do I fall back in my laurels and do what I know I can pull of and make look "good", hell, all the time! But I am I fulfilled, and does that person wear a piece of art that speaks volumes? That is what I want to accomplish with my art. Honesty.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, I'm finally getting the other side of my neck tattooed. I've been putting this off for a while now, on account of the fact that that shit hurts. And I'm a wuss. And I'm sober now. Sooooooo... Yushi takei will be putting a very traditional peony on my neck and we will see how well I do. I will post pictures and some commentary on how much of a baby I am when I actually get tattooed!
